Shaun Williamson

Shaun Williamson articled with Platform Litigation and was called to the bar in 2023. Shaun has assisted clients in trial, bail and sentencing matters and has appeared in both our Provincial and Supreme courts.
Shaun graduated from the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law. While in law school, Shaun volunteered for Student Legal Assistance and participated in the University of Calgary’s Public Interest Law Clinic where he was involved in a dispute regarding Alberta’s coal policy and helped design a proposal for a fairer way for Calgary Transit authorities to deal with impoverished people who were using transit without purchasing a ticket.
Shaun’s passion for criminal law began prior to law school when he completed a Masters degree in History and Cultural, Social and Political Thought at the University of Victoria. Shaun’s thesis examined the role of liberal economic theory in the development of mass incarceration in the United States. While in Graduate school Shaun was a member of the editorial advisory committee, reviewer, and copyeditor for the Graduate History Review.
Shaun received his B.A. (Hons.) in History from Mount Royal University.
