Mark Soo
Articled Student
Mark is the Platform Litigation articling student. He joined the firm in the summer of 2024, having graduated from Robson Hall, University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law. At law school, he participated in the school’s Community Law Clinic, which operates in partnership with Legal Aid to provide representation on criminal matters to marginalized members of the community.
Before joining the firm, Mark has worked with various Federal government agencies, most recently with the Public Prosecution of Service of Canada. At the PPSC, he assisted senior counsel on drug and firearms related prosecutions at various levels of court, including the Court of Appeal. Over the course of his 7 years at the PPSC, he worked in various capacities, ranging from assistant and paralegal to summer student.
Mark is interested in Charter litigation, especially in the area of unreasonable search and seizure as it relates to digital privacy. He has made multiple written contributions to the Manitoba Law Journal focusing on reasonable expectation and the intersection of the Charter with Civil Forfeiture.

Personal Interests
In his spare time, Mark enjoys street photography and long distance running, having completed more 5k, 10k and half-marathons races than he can remember.
