Gloria Ng
Co-Founder | Lawyer
Gloria is one of the co-founders of Platform Litigation. She obtained her law degree from the University of British Columbia and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2009.
Gloria has represented clients facing the most serious of criminal charges such as murder, manslaughter, drug trafficking, kidnapping and unlawful confinement to charges like fraud, assault, and mischief. No matter the seriousness of the charge, Gloria represents every client with the same level of advocacy and determination.
Gloria has considerable experience assisting clients at the outset of a criminal matter by providing clients with immediate legal advice upon arrest and successfully securing their release to bail. As part of her trial practice, Gloria regularly mounts constitutional challenges in areas such as: Search and Seizure, Unlawful Arrest and Detention, Right to Counsel and Right to Silence. Gloria also has extensive experience in challenging the evidence of informant and cooperating Crown witnesses as well as challenging technological evidence (cellular and computer data).
Gloria is also often retained to represent complainants in sexual assault cases when applications concerning a complainant’s privacy and dignity are engaged. As complainant’s counsel, Gloria ensures that the complainant has a voice to advocate on their behalf before the Court.
Gloria has also represented victims outside of the court system with consultative advice on what to expect after filing a police report, the intricacies of the criminal justice system, as well as assisting deceased victims and their families at Coroner’s Inquests.
Gloria has appeared in all levels of court in British Columbia as well as in the Supreme Court of Canada.

Gloria volunteers as a Principal with UBC’s Criminal Clinic where she supervises students as they work through criminal cases from start to finish. Gloria also volunteers as a Mentor to junior lawyers through the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers. Finally, Gloria also gives her time to engage with students as a guest speaker at various classes and events through UBC’s Allard Law.
Associations
Gloria is the President of the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society (CDAS), a member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL), and the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers (ALL).

Personal Interests
When she’s not in trial, Gloria loves spending time with her family. Her young son keeps her on her toes, challenging her to showdowns in soccer and golf, creating fun Lego structures, or video game battles. Gloria enjoys traveling and discovering new places, cultures, and cuisines.
